Nokia 92XX Installation Instructions
MIDP on the Nokia 92XX Communicator The Nokia 92XX/92XXi Communicator does not support Java MIDP technology by default, but there is an application - MIDP Software for Nokia 92XX Communicator - that simulates a MIDP environment in the Nokia 92XX Communicator. The instillation guide is available here. Move it to the Nokia 92XX Communicator using either PC Suite for Nokia 92XX Communicator or a MultiMediaCard (MMC) reader. Launch the MIDP software and select the Applications icon from Extras and click Open. Install the application in the Applications folder. Browse for the Java™ Application Descriptor (JAD) file in the memory and click OK. The MIDP application will be launched automatically after installation.
The 92XXi communicators have a bug in the PC Suite for Nokia 92XX Communicator. When the .jad files is transferred it's extension is changed and the application will not load. This is easily overcome by doing the following: 1. first zip the jar and jad file. 2. Transfer the zip file to the Communicator. 3. Unzip the file. Now follow the steps outlined above.
